Regan Sues News Corp. for $100 Million

Book publisher Judith Regan has filed a lawsuit against her former employer, Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., seeking $100 million in damages. The New York Times reports that, among other salacious allegations, Regan claims in her complaint that a News Corp. executive ordered her to lie about her affair with Bernard Kerik, the former, and recently indicted, New York City police commissioner. Regan asserts that she was asked to lie about her relationship with Kerik to avoid hurting the presidential aspirations of Rudy Giuliani. News Corp, has labeled the allegations as “preposterous.” I have not seen the complaint yet, by my suspicion is that the truth is likely closer to the News Corp. version than Ms. Regan’s. I suppose we’ll see what drops out of the tree during discovery.
